PIPE SHOES
Pipe shoes by Carpenter & Paterson are divided into two main categories: Cryogenic Pipe Supports and Pre-insulated pipe supports using calcium silicate, commonly referred to as Hot Shoes.
- Cryogenic Pipe Supports
Cryogenic pipe supports are essential in the production, processing, transportation, and distribution of liquefied gases such as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), where operating temperatures can be as low as –165°C.
CPA manufactures pre-insulated cryogenic pipe supports (also known as cold shoes), incorporating high-density polyurethane foam (HD PUF) as a highly efficient load-bearing cryogenic insulation material.
CPA’s cryogenic pipe supports are engineered specifically to meet individual customer requirements, and may vary depending on multiple factors, including load capacity and installation constraints.
Cryogenic Supports by Carpenter & Paterson (C&P / CPA) are designed to:
- Support high pipe loads
- Minimize heat transfer from the pipe to the supporting structure
- Allow thermal movement in accordance with design requirements
- Prevent CUI – Corrosion Under Insulation
- Ensure long-term safety and stability of cryogenic piping systems
Carpenter & Paterson’s cryogenic pipe supports are designed and manufactured in accordance with MSS SP-58 / MSS SP-69, ASME / EN Standards, specific customer technical requirements, and are subject to strict quality control at CPA’s manufacturing facilities, with a design life of up to 20–30 years.
- Pre-Insulated Calcium Silicate Supports (Hot Shoes)
CPA also supplies pre-insulated pipe supports using calcium silicate, commonly known as Hot Shoes. CPA’s high-performance calcium silicate material acts as an effective thermal insulation medium, capable of operating at temperatures of up to 1100°C.
Hot Shoes by Carpenter & Paterson (CPA) are specifically designed for systems that involve:
- High temperatures with significant thermal variation
- Heavy loads using carbon steel or stainless steel construction
- Requirements for stable, long-term operation
- Protection of insulation and mitigation of CUI
